The web browser which we all have learned to love turns the age of 15 today. Jon von Tetzchner, the CEO of Opera Software, and Geir Ivarsøy began coding the original desktop Web browser in April 1994. Today, about 40 million people use Opera on their Windows, Mac and Linux computers.
I’ve personally used Opera for years(although i am currently using Firefox) and recommended it to my friends, not just because its one of(maybe THE) best web browsers on the market, its also user friendly, fast, secure and not to mention Norwegian!
According to Digi.no they chose to celebrate this day by eating a nostalgic 1994 lunch, consisting of cheap “kneip” bread and cheese from a tube. Personally I prefer cake and champagne in events like these…
For interviews and pictures taken at the event, visit Digi.no (written in Norwegian though).
I also recommend checking out opera’s web page Opera.com for a old-looking under construction web page.
